An exciting opportunity awaits an ambitious hotelier ready to take the next step in their leadership career. Our client is seeking a commercially minded, hands-on Deputy General Manager to help lead a successful luxury business hotel in Kampala.

With an anticipated transition into the General Manager position within approximately 12 months, this role offers an outstanding platform for professional advancement.

THE PROPERTY

100 guest rooms and suites

5 food and beverage outlets

10 meeting and conference rooms

High-volume corporate and business clientele

Multicultural workforce and demanding service standards

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the overall leadership and daily operation of the hotel
• Drive exceptional guest satisfaction and service delivery
• Oversee food and beverage performance across all outlets
• Maintain luxury hospitality standards throughout the property
• Strengthen financial controls, profitability and operational efficiency
• Lead, motivate and develop a diverse international team
• Build strong relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders
• Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively
• Work closely with the General Manager on business strategy and performance
• Prepare to assume full General Manager responsibilities as the next career step

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Minimum 5 years of experience in luxury hotel management, ideally in properties with 100+ rooms

Strong operational knowledge across multiple hotel departments

Extensive food and beverage management experience

Previous professional experience in Africa is essential

East African hospitality experience will be highly regarded

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or an equivalent qualification

Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

Strong commercial awareness and financial management capabilities

Proven leadership skills in multicultural environments

Outstanding guest relations and interpersonal abilities

Confident communicator with excellent networking and relationship-building skills

Highly organised, adaptable and solutions-oriented

A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced business hotel environment

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

Salary up to US$4,500 net per month
